In cases where child custody agreements are not settled amicably, each parent must prove to the Court a custody agreement that they believe is in the best interest of the child. This can often mean proving that the child is unsafe in the other parent’s care due illnesses or lifestyle choices that pose a threat to the children, such as keeping poor company, criminal activity or severe drug and alcohol use. In these cases, FISI can investigate possible threats by way of conducting background searches and surveillance and accumulating evidence should the threat be real. FISI can also assist in child transfers by acting as an official witness and/or providing client-protection, which may be required if one parent poses a threat to the other.
